A range of activities or programs are offered to enhance students’ experiences at school. Some of the extra-curricular activities include, but are not limited to:
Our lunchtime activities run three days a week by our teachers with the aim of providing alternate lunchtime play options for our students. Options vary throughout the year and can include activities such as structured sports activities, quiet inside time such as reading in the library, board games, computer learning programs, gardening club, veggie garden and orchard care, choir, aerobics, etc.
We celebrate two amazing whole school concerts at Frankston Primary School. In the even-year we have our Whole School Production in Term 3 held at the Frankston Arts Centre. In the odd-year we have a whole school end of year Christmas Concert as a school community event on our school oval. Both of these events are very special to our school and provide terrific performance opportunities for our students.Clubs Program
During Term 2 and Term 3 we run a five-week afternoon CLUBS session for P – 2 and 3 – 6 students that are aimed to inspire students in further learning experiences. Students are able to select from a range of learning opportunities that engages them in all aspects of learning and enables the development of a broad range of learner attributes and skills. All learning is linked to the Victorian Curriculum. Our teachers run these groups that include a variety of activities such as Lego Creations, Art and Crafting, Gardening and Robotics, just to name a few.We encourage parents to either help run a group if they have expertise in any given area that might inspire our students or to just lend a hand where needed. These groups will evolve and change over time in line with the interests of our students.
School Aerobics Team
Students have the opportunity to participate in our school aerobics team. Our school aerobics team is well supported and inspired by an amazing group of teachers, and we have celebrated a number of successful competition wins at State and National Levels. We celebrate their hard work and training throughout our school with special showcase performances at Open Nights and School Assemblies.
Our Performing Arts teacher coordinates our school choir, which is a much-loved activity amongst many of our students. Our choir has the opportunity to perform at the local Peninsula Choral Festival, as a feature of many school-wide events and within our local community.
